Radiesse
Build collagen and elastin for a subtle and naturally sculpted look for your face and body.
-
Radiesse® is a Health Canada–approved dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) that restores facial volume while stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production. It is used for facial contouring, structural support, and long-term skin rejuvenation on the face and body.
Radiesse® vs. Hyperdilute Radiesse®
Radiesse® (Undiluted): Provides immediate structure and lift. Best for contouring areas like the jawline, chin, and cheeks.
Hyperdilute Radiesse®: Mixed with sterile saline to spread more diffusely. Focuses on improving skin quality, tightening, and crepiness rather than adding volume—ideal for areas like the face, neck, hands, décolleté, and body.
Key Difference:
Radiesse® builds structure and volume, while Hyperdilute Radiesse® improves skin texture and firmness with minimal to no added volume. -
This treatment can help address:
Hollows, Volume Loss – improving facial fullness and vitality
Fine Lines & Wrinkles – softening visible signs of aging
Sagging, Loose Skin – lifting and tightening for a more youthful contour
Scars, Texture, Dullness – improving skin smoothness and radiance
May also benefit other concerns — we’ll discuss them during your consultation.

Radiesse® offers both immediate and long-term results by combining structural support with collagen stimulation. Key benefits include:
Instant lift and contouring for areas like the jawline, chin, and cheeks
Stimulates natural collagen and elastin production for lasting improvement
Improves skin firmness, density, and overall quality over time
Long-lasting results compared to many traditional fillers
Hyperdilute Radiesse® focuses on skin quality, tightening, and biostimulatory effects rather than volume. Benefits include:
Gradual skin tightening and improved elasticity
Reduction in crepiness and fine lines
Enhanced skin texture and thickness
Ideal for treating face, neck, hands, décolleté, arms, and above the knees

Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (including aspirin and NSAIDs) and alcohol for at least 3 days prior to treatment. Limit excessive sun exposure to reduce skin sensitivity.
-
Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising is common and typically resolves within 1–5 days. Most patients return to normal activities shortly after treatment, though intense exercise should be avoided for 24–48 hours.
With Radiesse® (undiluted), you will notice immediate lift and contour from the filler itself, with continued improvement over time as collagen and elastin production is stimulated.
With Hyperdilute Radiesse®, results are more gradual, focusing on skin tightening, improved texture, and increased firmness rather than instant volume.
Full results for both develop over 6–12 weeks as your body produces new collagen. Outcomes typically last 12–18 months or longer, depending on the area treated and individual metabolism.
FAQs
It’s important to us that you feel comfortable and clear about all elements of Radiesse treatments before deciding if it’s right for you. We’ve put together answers to the questions we get most when patients are deciding if Radiesse treatments are good fit for you.
-
With Radiesse® (undiluted), many patients achieve their desired result with a single treatment, particularly when the goal is structural contouring and volume (e.g., jawline, chin, cheeks).
With Hyperdilute Radiesse®, a series is typically recommended for optimal skin quality improvement. Most patients benefit from 2 treatments spaced 12 weeks apart, especially for areas
where collagen stimulation and tightening are the primary goals.
Key Difference:
Radiesse® is often one session for structure, while Hyperdilute Radiesse® is a series for progressive skin tightening and rejuvenation. -
Yes. Radiesse® is often combined with complementary treatments to enhance collagen stimulation and overall results. At The Face Lab™, it is commonly paired with microneedling, PRFM, Sofwave, Tixel®, and Aerolase® to support deeper tissue regeneration, improve skin quality, and maximize firming outcomes.
-
Yes. Radiesse® is considered safe for all skin types, including melanin-rich skin. Because it works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production rather than targeting pigment, it carries a low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when performed correctly.
As with any injectable treatment, safety depends on proper patient selection, technique, and provider expertise. A personalized consultation is essential to assess suitability.

Both are biostimulatory injectables designed to improve skin quality and stimulate collagen, but they differ in how they work, how quickly you see results, and how they are used.
Hyperdilute Radiesse® (Calcium Hydroxylapatite – CaHA):
Diluted to spread evenly for skin tightening and texture improvement
Provides subtle, early improvement with continued collagen stimulation
Improves crepiness, elasticity, and skin thickness
Commonly used on face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, and lower face
Typically requires 2–3 sessions spaced 12 weeks apart
Results last around 12–18 months
Maintenance typically 1 session annually
Sculptra® (Poly-L-lactic Acid – PLLA):
Works gradually with no immediate visible change
Stimulates deeper collagen production for volume restoration and skin thickening
Best for diffuse volume loss and full-face rejuvenation
Requires a series of treatments (often 2–3+ sessions over several months)
Results develop over time and can last 2+ years
Maintenance typically 1 session per year
Key Difference:
Hyperdilute Radiesse® focuses more on skin tightening and surface quality with some early visible improvement, while Sculptra® is designed for gradual, deeper collagen rebuilding and volume restoration with long lasting results.Clinical nuance:
Hyperdilute Radiesse® is often preferred for crepey skin and body areas
Sculptra® is better for global facial volume loss and structural support over time
Both can be combined strategically depending on treatment goals
